KHAZANAH ISLAM:Should I Feel Sad When Ramadhan is Over? (Artikel Dalam bhs.Inggris)

Should I Feel Sad When Ramadan is Over? Several years ago in the end of holy month of Ramadan, while many of Muslims were happily prepared for Eid al-Fitr celebration I felt kind of sad. It said that as a Muslim you should feel happy when Ramadan ends, because it is the moment of victory when you have conquered your lust.
But for me, Ramadan is a special month when God gives all His bless to us. Months after Ramadan, we lose His privilege to us and it is not easy think to maintain our religious spirit outside Ramadan. Ramadan is a special month for all Muslims around the world. In Ramadan every Muslims are ordered to fasting as to hold and to control our lust. Ramadan is a holy month when God give His bless to all of us, every single good thing we do will be multiplied by God. I believe that is true since I experienced myself that I have more tendencies to do good things and avoid all of bad things. I also feel more peaceful; have more energy to do more during Ramadan than any other month.
Ramadan ends when Eid al-Fitr happens. It is a symbol of our victory as a Muslims that we finally can control our lust not driven by. Eid al-Fitr is a day when Muslims that have passed examination in Ramadan become clean again from every sins we’ve made. It is a good thing to become clean again from sins and mistakes but then the hardest thing begin when we have to maintain our self clean from sins in ordinary month outside Ramadan.
To become our self as good as at Ramadan is not a simple thing because there are so many temptations in our ordinary days. It is very different from in Ramadan when almost everyone tends to do good things and avoid bad things and of course God’s special bless is no longer with us as if in Ramadan. I think it is silly if we just won over our lust just for a month and we lose another eleven months. The Victory we get in Eid al-Fitr is something to hold on not something to let it go just several days after Ramadan. So I think it is reasonable to feel a bit sad when Ramadan is over
